As A Business Owner, Going Out For Bid Makes Good Sense

June 30, 2014

Priced Marketing Services for your Business

There’s a good reason why Progressive Insurance has done so well with their commercials about car insurance. Flo, the main character and agent in the commercials, has a no-nonsense approach when finding the right car insurance for her customers. Why wouldn’t anyone want the same insurance for less money? Why not at least shop around and compare?

Seems like common sense to make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck when searching for anything, whether it’s a new vehicle, insurance, or even new luggage.  The same rings true for all service providers.

So, when was the last time you priced marketing services for your business? If it’s time for a new company brochure or sales piece and you’ve used the same marketing firm for the last several years, it may be a good idea to see what other agencies charge for their services. Maybe your company hasn’t dabbled much in electronic media and you need a website that finally works for you, bringing in new leads or helping you to effectively get your message out on personal computers and mobile devices. Or, maybe it’s time to consider a new strategy that allows your brand, product and services to be found online in Google and the other major search engines by utilizing the power of search engine optimization (SEO) or social media services. Is the firm you’re using capable of all of these services? Now would be a great time to ask.

Going out for bid makes good sense for many more reasons than what we have listed here. When you start to compare pricing and marketing services, you will not only get an idea of what things may be costing today, but also a fresh, new perspective from different service providers. Maybe you never really liked that dated tagline or logo anyway for your business but wasn’t sure how to change it. By going out for bid, you are able to seek ideas from other marketers that you may have never even considered before. On the flip-side, you may also realize just how good your existing relationship already is with your marketing and public relations firm, solidifying the notion that what you’ve been doing all along is right for you (and your business). Checking out the marketing options available to you just makes sense.
