Joe’s Market Basket Supports Pollinator Week June 19-25: Encourages Local Residents to Plant for Pollinators

 

Established in 2007 by Pollinator Partnership, Pollinator Week happens this year on June 19-25, bringing the importance of pollination to the forefront. Enhanced focus occurs one week each year on the nation’s pollinating animals, celebrating efforts that are being made to protect the world’s pollinators. Year-round, these efforts are working diligently to reverse and prevent pollinator declines caused by habitat loss, disease, parasites and other unified assaults on pollinator populations.

Pollinator Partnership, a not-for-profit organization dedicated exclusively to the health of pollinators like bees, butterflies, birds and more, has been helping to spread the word about Pollination transfer since 1997. Pollination is important so plants thrive and seeds grow, also helping to produce foods that we eat every day. In the US, pollination by honeybees, native bees, and other insects produces $40 billion worth of products annually.

City of Edwardsville Now Offering Commemorative Paver Stones for Purchase at Leon Corlew Park

The City of Edwardsville’s Better Place to Play Campaign has announced that commemorative paver stones are now available for purchase to be displayed at the Leon Corlew Park and Splash Pad, located at 333 S. Main Street near downtown Edwardsville. The Leon Corlew Park opened in the summer of 2016 and its picnic area, playground, splash pad, and walking trail have made it a family favorite in the City of Edwardsville.

The 12” x 12” paver stones can either be engraved with a message, the name of a loved one or can be engraved with a company logo. Now area residents and businesses have the option to purchase and engrave a paver stone or brick to become a part of the park’s history.

Julie Plummer Lading of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Elite Properties has been awarded the Company Designated Trainer (CDT) designation by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. Plummer Lading earned the CDT designation by successfully completing this tier of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Instructor Development Program. This program combines virtual training, self-study and individual assignments in a four-week program focused on providing trainers practical skills and practice activities to help raise the level of training design and delivery proficiency.
