Gori Julian & Associates, P.C.’s, D. Todd Mathews Named to Lead Atrium C-Qur Hernia Mesh Litigation as Member of the Executive Committee

Gori Julian & Associates, P.C. today announced that attorney D. Todd Mathews has been named to lead the Atrium Hernia Mesh Multi District Litigation by Judge Landya B. McCafferty of the United States District Court of New Hampshire.

Judge McCafferty appointed Mathews to a five member Plaintiffs' Executive Committee to lead the litigation for all cases filed throughout the country in Federal Courts.Allegations have been made that Atrium’s C-Qur Hernia Mesh gets stuck to the bowels and other parts of the body, increasing the risk of causing serious injuries, such as organ perforation and gastric ulcers.

“A highly qualified and diverse Executive Committee has been established by the court to ensure plaintiffs will have the best possible representation moving forward throughout this litigation.
Having the court place their faith in me and the others appointed to oversee this litigation is a huge honor and responsibility,” said Mathews. “The injuries these plaintiffs have suffered are horrific. I certainly plan to honor the court and the victims of this product by working hard and doing everything in my power to see that justice prevails.”

Waterman Announced as New Attorney at Gori Julian & Associates

Gori Julian & Associates, P.C. today announced that Megan Waterman has joined Gori Julian & Associates, P.C. as an attorney. Waterman began her career at Gori Julian & Associates, P.C. as a law clerk in May of 2015, conducting research for mesothelioma and lung cancer.

Waterman received her undergraduate degree from Drury University in Springfield, Mo. and began her legal career at the University of Tulsa College of Law. During a study abroad term in Dublin, Ireland, Waterman served as an intern to a senator, where she contributed to housing legislation aimed at obtaining affordable housing for hardworking families. In law school, she also interned with the Boesche Legal Clinic in Tulsa, Okla., representing victims of domestic violence.

JF Electric Makes $50,000 Donation to the City of Edwardsville’s A Better Place to Play Campaign

Last night at the Edwardsville City Council meeting, JF Electric presented a donation in the amount of $50,000 to the “A Better Place to Play Campaign” in support of the Plummer Family Sports Park. This is the second $50,000 donation the electrical contracting company has made to the campaign, totaling an investment of $100,000. The Plummer Family Sports Park will be located near the I-55 corridor in Edwardsville and will provide state-of-the-art facilities for various outdoor sports like baseball, softball, soccer and potentially more.

Greg Fowler of J.F. Electric is excited about the partnership with the City of Edwardsville for the A Better Place to Play campaign. “We wanted to step up and do what we could to make the Sports Park a reality for our community. Supporting our local youth and their interests in sports is an important investment and one that we plan to support even further in the future.”

The “A Better Place to Play” campaign was created in 2015 to raise community funds to help develop three new parks in Edwardsville. Last summer the first of the three parks opened leaving only the Plummer Family Sports Park and proposed Ice rink / Teen Center on the table for development.
