Michael Koenig, MD Joins Alton Health Center

Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation (SIHF) is pleased to announce that Michael Koenig, M.D. has joined the Pediatrics team at Alton Health Center, 550 Landmarks Blvd. in Alton, Ill. Koenig serves children of all ages, from birth through adolescence, by offering preventative and primary care to treat both acute and chronic conditions.

“I strive in every way to have a good relationship with both my patients and their families. I’ll do everything in my power to help a child,” said Koenig.

Prior to joining SIHF, Koenig served at DePaul Glennon Care, Hannibal Clinic and Hannibal Regional Hospital where he served as the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. Koenig received his medical degree from New York Medical College.

Koenig is currently accepting new patients at Alton Health Center and appointments may be scheduled by calling (618) 463-0649.

Touchette Regional Hospital Announces Change in Leadership: Sulbrena Day, Ph.D. Appointed Chief Operating Officer

Touchette Regional Hospital (TRH) announced today that Sulbrena Day, Ph.D. has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) of the hospital effective Feb. 1, 2017. Day replaces Thomas Mikkelson, M.D. who has held this key leadership post since 2012. Dr. Mikkelson will transition to a new role at TRH working on a variety of special projects.

“We are honored that Sulbrena Day has agreed to assume this new leadership role,” said Larry McCulley, president and chief executive officer of TRH. “She is an effective leader who has an outstanding track record of success, accountability and team focus. We also share our sincere gratitude to Dr. Mikkelson who has a celebrated and accomplished career at TRH grounded in his tireless commitment to our mission of service.”

Day has served as vice-president of ancillary services at TRH since 2006. In this capacity, she provided administrative supervision to more than 15 hospital departments, while managing quality and safety standards, and enforcing hospital-wide policies and procedures. Day most recently oversaw the major expansion and renovation of TRH’s Emergency Department, as well as the new, 30-bed Behavioral Health Center, which opened in January 2016.

The new Chocolate-Covered Raspberry Heart Donut is a heart-shaped donut with raspberry filling, frosted with chocolate icing and drizzled with strawberry-flavored icing. The new Brownie Batter Crumble Heart Donut is a heart-shaped donut with brownie batter flavored buttercreme filling, frosted with chocolate icing and sprinkled with brownie crumble.

For an additional donut delight for that special someone, this season Dunkin’ Donuts is bringing back the Fudge Croissant Donut. A favorite for chocolate lovers, it combines the brand’s famous glazed croissant donut with decadent fudge filling, topped with chocolate and white icing drizzle. All of Dunkin’ Donuts’ coffee and donut menu items for Valentine’s Day season are available beginning today for a limited time.
