Web Developer
Cork Tree Creative is actively seeking a full-time web developer to join our dynamic team based in St.Louis,MO or Edwardsville, IL., which offers integrated marketing services to over 35 clients across the United States. We are looking for individuals with exceptional work ethic, a positivity, and outstanding problem-solving skills to contribute to our collaborative and supportive work environment.
In addition to working closely with our account executives and crafting WordPress websites that meet client expectations, the ideal candidate must possess proficiency in designing and developing websites that are SEO optimized, thus enhancing their online visibility and overall performance.
Moreover, the selected candidate will assume responsibility for managing hosting services, conducting maintenance tasks, and implementing necessary updates to websites as required. This pivotal role involves ensuring the seamless operation of client websites, guaranteeing they remain current, secure, and reflective of any changes or enhancements needed for optimal functionality.
This role is a hybrid schedule, and you must be in one of our offices from Tuesday to Thursday.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, computer science, development, or design and 2-3 years experience building content management systems, particularly WordPress and/or Joomla.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Excellent web design skills and mockup creations
- Understanding of plugin integrations
- Understanding of APIs
- Testing and Debugging Skills
- Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS): Familiarity with CMS platforms like WordPress, Shopify, or Joomla.
- Understanding of DNS configuration and management: This includes setting up domain records such as A, CNAME, MX, and TXT records.
- Familiarity with various hosting platforms and services
- Knowledge of Security Best Practices: Awareness of common security vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them.
- Basic understanding of FTPS (File Transfer Protocol Secure)
- Solid understanding of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Print design experience is a PLUS!
