A Better Place To Play

Fundraising Campaign & Marketing for the City of Edwardsville, Illinois

The City of Edwardsville desired a fun, creative fundraising campaign to encourage local residents to make an investment in the community’s parks and recreation. The three parks that the city wanted to begin seeking funding for were the Leon Corlew Park & Splash Pad, the Plummer Family Park and the Ice Rink/Teen Complex. This is where we came in and the "Better Place to Play" campaign began.

Making Edwardsville a Better Place to Play

To help get these park development projects off of the ground, we worked directly with the mayor and the Edwardsville Parks & Recreation Department on all aspects of the program, including the following:
Developed the campaign a Better Place to Play from the ground up;
Worked directly with the city to create branding;
Assisted the city in developing fundraising opportunities for community residents as well as corporate sponsorships;
Designed an interactive website for the campaign;
Maintained an ongoing schedule of PR announcements to keep residents updated on the status of the parks;
Created video marketing content and other communication materials to seek funding;
Developed social media content to promote the campaign and its efforts;
Provided ongoing event support, such as the ribbon cutting and time capsule burial at the grand opening celebration of the Leon Corlew Park & Splash Pad.

Campaign Success

The Leon Corlew Park & Splash Pad was successfully funded for and developed, and is now a staple of the community. The Plummer Family Park, a state-of-the-art sports park is currently under development, with the Ice Rink/Teen Complex being next in line for completion.
