Ongoing Public Relations and Communications Efforts

CSF asked Cork Tree Creative to provide ongoing, proactive PR support to help enhance its reputation within the St. Louis community. This includes drafting press releases and media pitches to highlight nonprofit partnerships throughout St. Louis County, award announcements, and upcoming educational opportunities (webinars, conferences, trainings, and seminars). Our team also assists with the coordination of media interviews as well as monitors news outlets (print, radio, television, and even social media) for opportunities and effectiveness of PR tactics. Once Cork Tree’s team transitioned into a public relations role, we developed a comprehensive communications plan to aid in ongoing support in managing communications effectively. We created a well-defined response plan with an emphasis on crisis communication, training, and delivering key messaging.

Comprehensive Communications Plan

We developed a detailed plan encompassing various communication strategies and tactics to support CSF's ongoing communication needs effectively, including key messaging, personas, audience channels, media training, and much more.

Crisis Communication Toolkit

The plan specifically focused on addressing crisis situations that could occur in the community, ensuring that CSF had a solid framework to handle and communicate during challenging times.

Training

We also provided media training sessions to CSF personnel, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement the communications plan effectively. This training covered crisis communication techniques and guidance for delivering key messaging.

Event Planning and Support for Events

Through CTC's ongoing PR contract for CSF, we've achieved significant success in event planning and promotional marketing services. The first initiative of the year included the planning of CSF's Core Funding Networking Award event. Additionally, we helped CSF plan and execute the Grassroots Awards and Partner networking event, where we achieved full attendance and increased brand awareness and visits to CSF's "Who We Fund" and "Find a Service" landing pages. Finally, we helped coordinate and promote the WellEducator STL event through media relations and organic outreach, which led to a sold-out event within one week of promotion.

For the events, the team at Cork Tree Creative:
  • Brainstormed with CSF on event goals and offerings,
  • Worked closely with venues and vendors, including caterers, to coordinate a smooth guest experience,
  • Developed event promotion strategies, including press releases announcing the events and inviting local media contacts to attend,
  • Tracked website analytics after the events to gauge brand awareness.
