Linkedin Newest Features - 2015
LinkedIn was officially launched in 2003 but has been a part of the mainstream Internet experience since about 2007. Touted as the world’s largest professional network, LinkedIn has over 300 million subscribers. LinkedIn made it possible for members could post and comment, similar to Facebook. As a result of its popularity, it has recently reached one million published posts and continues to grow.
What makes LinkedIn special?
For starters, job seekers can turn to LinkedIn careers and jobs when looking for a new opportunity. This is not only a benefit for the general public but also can be a wonderful place for small and large corporations. Now more than ever, it's important to include LinkedIn when developing your company's social media strategy. Not only can you find future talent to add as staff, but you are also able to network with other businesses.
Changes to LinkedIn
Although a free service with many features, the premium service comes at a cost: $49.95 per month. However, companies selling certain products and services may benefit from being a “Business Plus” user. Basic users can still post, share ideas, join groups and make connections, but there is a limit on the number of free searches each month. Other features have also been redesigned on LinkedIn, changing the look and feel of the site for users. Another benefit of LinkedIn is search engine optimization. Because of its popularity, often when someone or something is searched (including businesses), the profile can pop up on page 1 of that search. It’s just another reason to include LinkedIn in your online marketing strategy.
